{"id":84,"date":"2020-11-14T20:06:04","date_gmt":"2020-11-15T04:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unifor456.org\/?page_id=84"},"modified":"2020-11-14T20:06:04","modified_gmt":"2020-11-15T04:06:04","slug":"article-14-by-laws-adoption-and-amendments","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staging.unifor456.org\/?page_id=84","title":{"rendered":"ARTICLE 14 &#8211; BY-LAWS &#8211; ADOPTION AND AMENDMENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a name=\"_Toc275512363\"><\/a>Section 1: Ratification and Approval<\/h2>\n<p>These by-laws shall become effective when ratified by two-thirds of the members present at a General Membership meeting.\u00a0 The amended By-Laws will be submitted to the National Executive Board for approval.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc275512364\"><\/a>Section 2: Modification, Amendment or Repealing of By-Laws<\/h2>\n<p>Any provision of these by-laws may be modified, amended or repealed or new by-laws adopted by the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members voting on the question at a General Membership meeting or a Special Membership meeting called for that purpose.<\/p>\n<p>However, the proposed change must be in the form of a Notice of Motion as provided for in <strong>Article 4 &#8211; Section 7<\/strong> of these by-laws and further provided that if an amendment shall alter the amount of the Initiation Fee or Dues as fixed in <strong>Article 9<\/strong> of these by-laws, the vote must be conducted in accordance with <strong>Article 4 &#8211; Section 7 <\/strong>of these by-laws.\u00a0 The Local has no power or authority to modify, amend or repeal any of the terms and provisions of the Constitution of the National Union.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Section 1: Ratification and Approval These by-laws shall become effective when ratified by two-thirds of the members present at a General Membership meeting.\u00a0 The amended By-Laws will be submitted to the National Executive Board for approval.
